The campaign period for the Upper House election has ushered in the final stage. Candidate Kai Masayasu has fought for a year, canvassing throughout the country with support of party members, supporters and friends of the New Socialist Party. The last, crucial three days are left before balloting. Let’s fight until the last moment.
LET’S SEND CANDIDATE KAI MASAYASU TO PARLIAMENT!
Israel launched a pre-emptive strike June 13 against the nuclear sites in Iran, violating the international laws, which was followed by the US raid against the Middle East nation later. The United States authority had claimed to continue attacking the nation until its ‘unconditional surrender’, but on June 25 the two assaulting parties announced a ceasefire agreement.
A cycle of revenge is generated
The situation, however, cannot be dealt with hopefully. An overwhelming military incident could produce tentative armistice, but, at the same time, such an event may lead to a chain reaction of violent reprisals as history shows. Peace cannot be built by armed forces.
If the Strait of Hormuz should be shut down, the Self Defense Forces (SDF) of Japan should be coercively mobilized to cope with an ‘emergency situation’, which the then-Prime Minister Abe Shinzo would have defined, stipulated in the so-called a series of security legislation enacted in 2015.
In the NATO Summit held in the Hague, the Netherlands, on June 25, the member countries reached an agreement to surge military expenditure up to 5% of their GDPs, which was requested by the Trump administration. Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru had expected to join the summit meeting, but he refrained, fearing of possible media criticisms over his visit as a focal point during the election campaign period.
Focus on Stop Wars! during the campaign
This election will request us to make a severe decision: to impede Japan from being engaged in a war, to implement constitutional principles and to change politics into one that will build peace and help people’s living. Japan now stands at a vital crossroad of the future path.
The New Socialist Party decided in the Party Congress held in April 2024 to field Kai Masayasu, Director, Civic Movement Committee, enrolling in the proportional representation list. The candidate and party members have fought together across the nation. Now it is the final stage. The most important point lies in a fact that the ‘election does not end in posting official election postcards’, which we saw in the Upper House election three year ago.
In this election the NSP has collected 110 thousand of the election postcards from the members and friends. Every sheet of the cards represents a vote of affiliation, a political asset. In order to activate their will, let’s make reconfirmation, calling and mailing every one you wrote to. Our efforts at the last phase are crucial.
Tell ‘Kai’ to voters
One of the election campaign activities for the proportional representation channel is to tell ‘Kai’ again and again to impress on voters. Let’s imprint the name Kai Masayasu on their heart. Time is short. How many voters do recall the name of Candidate is vital. Let’s make concluding efforts to make Kai Masayasu known and remembered in the electorate.
