No. 1376 Let’s Fight for Victory of Constitution-Supporting Candidates, showing Potential of New Socialist Party!

The voting day will come October 27 for the general election. This is an election that the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) has decided promptly so that it could win before the opposition forces may not exert united, full strength. Let’s break through this evil intention so that the ruling bloc cannot attain the majority of the seats in the House of Representatives. Let’s change the government!

LET’S MAKE BEST EFFORTS UNTIL THE LAST MOMENT!

Politics managed with money – this is the biggest contentious point of the current election. Many of analysts say that a possibility has become murky to make the ruling bloc reduce the number of parliamentary seats below the majority and to alternate the government; it is because the Constitutional Democratic Party (CDP), the biggest opposition political party, is shaken up tremendously and the united opposition front decays, leading to splitting candidates into groups.

Is it a cost for democracy?

If the opposition camp is defeated in this election, that means politics managed by money will continue: funds composed of contributions from business entities in the name of party tickets and the official grant, or tax money, called the Political Party Subsidies provided by the law.

In other words, people-voters will admit the position of the LDP; that ‘it costs money to carry out political works. This means expenses for democracy. Thus, the practice should be approved.’ That is to say, the Japanese society accepts that big businesses and the ruling bloc, including the LDP, are allowed to be connected with each other.

Explanations were made when the small constituency election system was introduced; the new arrangement would dissolve criminal connections of politics with money and realize the two-big political party system that could be altered from one to another. In fact, however, neither of them has been proven right. We must assert a fair and just election system which does not need much money in which candidates from small political parties and independentists can be fielded. Let’s revoke the current small constituency election system, too!

Let’s make utmost efforts to change the government until the last moment! The ‘LDP’s organizational political crime’, which is not limited to the scandalous money. Let’s continue to accuse intensely the ruling bloc of its politics connected with money.

Defend principles of joint struggle!

Unfortunately, the CDP has been overwhelmed. Their pledge on the national security issue lies in the following statement;

‘Stable diplomacy and national security lie in the US-Japan military alliance as a basis with pursuit of an exclusively defensive stance. Intensification of defense capabilities integrating new domains and improvement of war-continuing potential.’

This represents expansion of military build-up in favor of increasing military expenditure. It is unreasonable.

The biggest objective of the joint struggle of opposition political parties with civic groups lies in abolition of the so-called national security legislation to realize constitutional principles. That is to advocate constitutionalism. Let’s make the greatest efforts so that the joint front may not be collapsed and the principal pledge may not be forgotten.

Concretely speaking, let’s arrange a scheme; in the constituency election, voters should ballot for constitutional candidates, whoever is from the CDP or the Communist Party. It is citizens who stay in the crucial position in the movements and support the constitutional opposition parties. We must stage campaigns in which candidates express his/her political stance to oppose military intensification, protect people’s lives and suspend development of nuclear power generation.

Let’s show up our potential!

Let’s work so that the Social Democratic Party (SDP) can increase its seats in the parliament and voters can recognize clearly the New Socialist Party (NSP) through these campaigns. A camp of the SDP and the NSP is small. But we can show a path in which the constitutional opposition bloc should pursue after triumph and in which people can rely on the administration. To this aim let’s work hard!
